How to Use More Than One Yahoo Messenger - Simultaneously

If you have multiple Yahoo ID's, like most people do now, don't miss out on using the instant message service, just because you do. YTips & Tricks @ Sammyou won't have to pick and choose which one to sign in with....also, if you share the computer, this is a really great way to share without having to sign out every time. It's easy and here's how..

Things You’ll Need:

  •     * Microsoft Windows operating system.
  •     * Yahoo Messenger.

Steps To Be Followed:-

  1. First you have to download and install Yahoo Messenger. The link is below in the Additional Resources.
  2. Once the Yahoo Messenger is installed, if it starts up automatically, don't worry about it, but don't sign in yet ;) (if signed in, sign out - this is just to ensure it will work)
  3. In Vista, go to your Search bar in your Start Menu; (In XP use: Run)
Regardless where you had to go; Type: regedit
  4. Once it opens, go to (or you can use Find (Edit>Find): HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\yahoo\pager\Test
  5. Now, you might already see a DWORD value named Plural, if so, go to  11 -- Not all Yahoo Messenger installs do this, some do. If you don't see it, move on to the next step.
  6. In that area, right click on the empty space
  7. Once you've right clicked on the empty space, you'll see 'New' click on that.
  8. Scroll down to DWORD 32 bit value
  9. Click it
  10. Once it's made, name it Plural (if you didn't get to rename it when it was made, just right click and Rename it)
  11. Right click on it, and click Modify.
  12. Change the Value Data to 1 (default is 0) -leave everything else as is.
  13. Click Ok
  14. You're finished! Close the registry.
  15. Now go to your Yahoo Messenger and see if it worked...should have ;) If it didn't, go back and check and make sure you set the value to 1 and named the value to Plural.
